This retrospective publication was compiled after the death of the incredible Dutch photographer Sanne Sannes. It includes texts by photographer and archivist Cécile van der Harten and essayist Gerard van Westerloo. Sannes’ photographs are deeply wrapped in intimacy. His signature lies in his close proximity to his subjects, capturing them in impassioned and fleeting emotions like ecstasy. The photographer feels ever present within the frame, like a lover. Sannes’ career was tragically cut short by his death at the age of thirty, leaving behind a body of work that feels like an eternal relic of his brief but spirited young life. Text in Dutch.
